(from the episode where Abby buys everyone new mp3/ipods and Gibbs says that he only listens to five songs. I know at the beginning Tony comes in "Luck be a lady tonight" and Tim was listening to "how to be an alpha male" and Ziva had walked in listening to some rockin' music.)
She had an eclectic taste in music. It ranged from jazz to classical to heavy metal and everything in between. Music helped her get lost in the tunnels of her mind and allowed her to make connections she otherwise would have missed. She figured it also came from having deaf parents and growing up in a very silent household. Normally, Gibbs would shut her music off, but the one time she had Journey's Don't Stop Believin' playing, he had such a heartbroken look on his face. Years later, Jack told her they met getting on a train and she understood.
She wasn't sure of her welcome. They'd come for her when her own father had left her for dead. She had a lot to atone for, especially with Tony. But before she could achieve any sort of forgiveness, she needed Gibbs on her side. He was the one that could let her back on the team. He was the one that would smooth things over. Walking down the steps to the basement, she heard a Disney song playing and thought that while Part of Your World might have been one of Kelly's favorites, it was very fitting for her situation.
When Gibbs plopped a cassette tape on his desk late one night as they were wrapping a difficult case, he was startled. Gibbs had asked him to transfer it to one of those disc things and that was the end of it. Luckily, he had a setup at home for just that reason. As a gift for his mom, he'd slowly been converting her music library over to the digital age. Still wound up from the case, he set the tape up to transfer. He recognized the first song playing as Coal Miner's Daughter, but the singer wasn't Loretta Lynn.
He watched as Gibbs got up from the couch and turned the radio off, letting the living room descend into silence except for the crackle of the fire. Thoughts were turning over and over in his head as he took in the facts. He was fairly certain they were doing some type of dating or foreplay. He let the words of that last song turn over and over in his head. Kenny Rogers sure knew how to tell it like it was. Finally, Gibbs walked back over to the couch and spoke. "So, Tony, you gonna play the game, boy?"
So. Ice Queen, and I think either Yankee White or Hung Out To Dry both have Tony wearing glasses, while later eps DON'T.
Why isn't he wearing glasses anymore except for when he's undercover???
Gibbs just raised an eyebrow.
"It's not affecting my field work. The doctor said I wouldn't need to report it since it's only for reading and computer work."
Gibbs continued glaring.
"Don't tell me it's a rule because I've seen that pair you have hidden in your desk that you only pull out in the middle of the night when you think me and Kate are out cold."
Gibbs made a small grunt that Tony considered a minor victory.
"Until you can give me a valid reason, I'm gonna wear them," Tony said with confidence as he swept the LASIK pamphlets in his trash can and placed his recently acquired glasses on his face.
Gibbs grabbed him by the arm before he could comfortable and hauled him into the elevator, pressing him into the back wall as he slammed the door close button.
Once the elevator was stopped with the flip of the emergency switch, Gibbs pressed in and kissed Tony deeply. When their lips separated with a wet smacking sound, Tony looked into Gibbs' eyes breathlessly.
"Okay. LASIK it is. But I'm getting a pair with plain lenses to wear for private showings."
Gibbs nodded in agreement and then proceeded to kiss Tony some more.
(and no, that's not the prompt yet *g*)
"So McNavy man!" Tony called out. "What are your fellow sailors going to say when you get sick over that white uniform."
Tony winced after the words rolled out. He knew that was harsh, even for him, but he couldn't help himself. To top it off, Gibbs had stalked over and wacked harder than ever on the back of the head and told him to go log the evidence.
Tony could see McGee's smile as he trudged by with the box and Gibbs was telling him that he made the uniform look good. It should have been him. Instead, he was relegated to the probie duties while the Probie was up there living it up in his place. Not to mention, getting praise from Gibbs.
Tony fumed the entire case and wasn't surprised when Gibbs barked his name and told him to follow when the case was wrapped. At least Gibbs was going to give him the dressing down he deserved in private.
To Tony's shock, Gibbs didn't stop the elevator. Instead, he said nothing and led Tony to his car. From there, they went to Gibbs' place in silence. Once inside, Gibbs pointed Tony to the guest room and just said, "Put it on," shutting the door behind him.
Tony looked at the garment bag laying on the bed and unzipped it as if it would bite him. Inside, he found a pristine uniform and checking the label assured him it was his size.
In a daze, he put the uniform on and with an unsteady hand, opened the door. Looking out, he found Gibbs standing in his full Marine dress uniform and Tony found himself snapping to attention.
"So sailor," Gibbs barked out as he walked around Tony. "They tell me you think your pretty hot stuff out there. Can you prove it?"
Tony's heart leapt to his throat and he felt his cock rise to attention in the tight confines of his pants as he answered, "Yes, Gunny!"
