Fic Recs: NCIS

NCIS - Tony Puff
Since I *think* I have internet back (don't tell Comcast), I thought I would say hi with some links to some awesome NCIS fics by three authors...

All Her NCIS Stories
by xanthe

I don't know where to start in talking about Xanthe's NCIS stories (and some SGA-ness too). I actually first read two of her SGA stories that was an AU BDSM world of SGA. Then (and it completely shocked me), I found out she did an NCIS/SGA crossover based in her AU BDSM world. All 200,000 words of it blew me away...

Then came a 47,000 word heart stopper called "Andy". It's a Gibbs/Tony story, and both Gibbs and Tony have to deal with daddy issues in it. Very good. Very emotional on all accounts.

The Choice. Gibbs, Tony and Tim and spanking scenario. Gibbs works through a falling out between Tim and Tony. It has a great set up prior to the spanking.

Ten Years On. Just what is says... It's from Tim's viewpoint 10 years in the future when Tony is a on self destructive path.

There's several others she has posted as well. Also, she's getting close to having a new angst filled fic that I'm really looking forward to reading.

So, click the link below to see all of her stories:

The Home Series
by triskellion

First off, this series has wolf shifters. triskellion created a shifter race and wove members of that race into the NCIS world. This series is Gibbs/DiNozzo and starts when Kate dies and so far she has parts up through 04x10 Smoked. The stories are built as episode tags working the verse into canon. It's very well put together and the shifter part seems so natural.

The link below has the first story in the series and then links to all the other stories at the end of the post.

Also, she wrote an AU of her verse that has the "what if" scenario for is Shannon and Kelly hadn't been killed. It is set pre-series when Tony was still a Baltimore cop.

Lessons Series
by sasha1600

What I Think
I first saw these on FF.Net and wasn't sure if I would like them or not. The stories center around spanking in the corporal punishment sense. So definitely don't read if that bothers you. However, sasha1600 is excellent and showing the progression of discipline methods from both sides of the fence. The characters all read as the same NCIS characters we all know and love. She puts a large focus on the bonds between Gibbs and Tony, Gibbs and McGee, and Tony and McGee. It makes for a very believable 'family'. In my opinion, each story gets better than the previous and makes the entire series just *that* much better.

The Beginning
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. A pre-series look at the origins of Gibbs’s discipline methods.
Chronology: This is a pre-series story that takes place during Gibbs’s days in the Marine Corps. The events here are not based on any episode.

The Lesson
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Kate discovers the consequences of disobeying Gibbs’s orders.
Chronology: Follows The Beginning. This is set mid-season 1, before One Shot, One Kill, but ignores the fact that McGee didn’t join the team until the beginning of season 2. The events in this story are not based on any particular episode.

Ice-Cream and Sympathy
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Tony comforts Kate after Gibbs disciplines her, with a story about his own experience of their boss’s displeasure.
Chronology: Follows The Lesson, and takes place the evening of same day as the events in that story. It contains Tony’s reminiscences of pre-series events. This story is not based on any particular episode.

Asking for Trouble
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Abby plays pranks on Gibbs. The results aren’t quite what you probably expect.
Chronology: Follows Ice Cream and Sympathy, and takes places a week after the events in that story. The events in this story are not based on any particular episode.

One Reprimand
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Gibbs was supposed to keep his bullet-proof vest on in One Shot, One Kill. He didn’t.
Chronology: Follows Asking for Trouble. Tag to One Shot, One Kill. This takes place towards the end of that episode, after the scene in the alley where Tony shoots the sniper and Gibbs asks Kate where her hat is, and before the conversation in the final scene about why the sniper hated Marine recruiters so much.

The Prank
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Tony goes too far with a prank against McGee and Gibbs decides there have to be consequences.
Chronology: Follows One Reprimand. This takes place towards the end of season 1, but ignores the fact that McGee didn’t join the team until the beginning of season 2. The events in this story are not based on any particular episode.

The Apology
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Tony apologises to McGee after The Prank.
Chronology: Follows The Prank, and takes place the morning after the events in that story.

Worse than Marine Food
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Tony finds out that Gibbs doesn’t make idle threats.

Chronology: Follows Worse than Marine Food. This takes place after the episode Vanished, early in season 2.

Enough like Eton?Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Ducky feels guilty about withholding crucial information about a possible serial killing. Tag to Lt. Jane Doe.
Chronology: Follows Shoulda Listened to Tim. Tag to Lt. Jane Doe.

Legacy
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Unhappy with Tony’s behaviour, Gibbs drags him back to his basement for a little chat.
Chronology: Follows Enough Like Eton? This is set sometime in season 2; there is no direct connection to any particular episode.

Photo Ops
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Gibbs responds to the ‘duelling photos’ issue. Tag to Conspiracy Theory.
Chronology: Follows Legacy. This begins immediately after the last scene in Conspiracy Theory, when Gibbs opens his e-mail.

Evasive Manoeuvres
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Tony has problems with authority, but Gibbs’s response is complicated by, uh, paddle-eaters and McGee?
Chronology: Follows Photo Ops. This is set late in season 2. There are no tags to specific episodes. It’s not a cross-over, but there’s a reference to a character from JAG in this one.

TGIF?
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Sequel to Evasive Manoeuvres. It’s Friday night...
Chronology: Follows Evasive Manoeuvres. Set late in season 2.

A Matter of Trust
Summary: Part of my 'Lessons' series. Tony has been thinking about his conversation with Gibbs in TGIF?
Chronology: Follows TGIF? Set late in season 2; ignores the fact that SWAK was immediately followed by Twilight.

Tim’s First Time
Summary: McGee gets his first taste of Gibbs’s discipline.
Chronology: Follows A Matter of Trust. This takes place immediately after Driven. Yes, my Muse skipped a season and a half; there might be stories in the future to fill in this gap.

Aftershock I: Doctor’s Orders
Summary: First in a series of interconnected sequels to Tim’s First Time. Gibbs just spanked Tim for the first time... now what?
Chronology: Follows Tim’s First Time and begins immediately after that story.

Aftershock II: Brotherly Love

Chronology: Follows Aftershock I: Doctor’s Orders and begins immediately after that story.

Aftershock III: House Call

Chronology: Follows Aftershock II: Brotherly Love and takes place at the same time as that story.

Aftershock IV: The Morning After
Summary: Last in a series of interconnected sequels to Tim’s First Time. Gibbs just spanked Tim for the first time... now what?
Chronology: Follows Aftershock III: House Call and takes place the morning after that story.

Sauce for the Gander
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Remember that evidence Gibbs swapped at the end of Family Secret?

Chronolgoy: Follows Discovered Story. This is set late in season 4, sometime after Cover Story and before Angel of Death.

Caught
Summary: Part of my ‘Lessons’ series. Palmer and Lee finally get caught.
Chronology: Follows Reorientation. I’ve taken the liberty of having Palmer and Lee get caught at the end of season 4, shortly before Angel of Death, because I need this to happen before other events in my larger plot arc. Just pretend that Gibbs’s surprise in Last Man Standing is about them apparently continuing to meet on the Navy Yard after this, ok?

Family Matters
Summary: The conclusion to the ‘Tony’s Big Lie’ storyline.
Chronology: Follows Caught. This takes place shortly after Family.

Chronology: Follows Intervention. Takes place after the end of Stakeout.

Chronology: Follows Expectations. This takes place a few weeks after the events in that story.

Pillow Talk
Summary: Part of my 'Lessons' series. Tony still isn’t happy about Tim’s pranks. Sequel to Family Tradition.

*purrs softly* I completely agree re Xanthe. She's the best. And I actually thought of you and CJ as a possible audience when I tried to get my wonderful favourite to write in NCIS fandom. <3
