Summary: Dawn was more than ready for her new adventure...
Dawn stared in awe at the blue watery surface of the active gate. The last few days had been a whirlwind and when the gate activated, everything came to a stop. The surface was serene in her opinion. She could feel the pull to just lean forward and let her skin be absorbed into the surface. She was so enthralled in the wormhole that she jumped when the strong voice behind her spoke up.
“Are you ready to proceed Dawn Summers?”
With a shake to clear her head, she turned back to look at the tall Jaffa. "Does it always look like that?"
Teal'c just gave a nod in response as Dawn turned back to stare. Three days ago, she didn't know the stargate existed and now she was about to step through to another planet.
After Sunnydale, she had pursued her interest in languages and earned a degree. With one degree under her belt, she went further and was now in the possession of a PhD and her name was out there. What she hadn't anticipated was being contacted by the United States Air Force in regards to a highly classified need for her abilities.
Apparently, they had researched her background thoroughly and learned of her connections to demons and other supernatural things. From there, they learned that she knew more languages than what her file claimed. When a first contact team located a temple with carvings in a language even Daniel couldn't identify they brought her in.
Now, after signing a forest's worth of paper and taking some basic self-defense qualification courses, Dawn was ready to make her first off-world trip.
"This is going to be the most excellent adventure ever," Dawn said with conviction.
"Indeed," was the last thing Dawn heard before she stepped through the gate.
