Accident

Just witnessed a very bad accident involving a motorcycle and an older lady in a car... don't think the guy on the motorcycle survived. Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers. It has me a little shaken up now. I was doing good at the scene of the accident; called 911, kept the older woman calm, talked to the cops, etc.

ETA: I'm doing better this evening... The man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. Very sad. We have had a lot of serious accidents in our area in the last few weeks with several people getting killed. It's not a good thing.

Thanks...

I found out that the man was a retired sheriff deputy from the next county over. They pronounced him dead at the scene.

Many many hugs! Hang in there, hon! I'm so so sorry you witnessed it, though I think the older woman appreciated you more than words can say.

Many more hugs!

Thank you for your kindness to strangers. Your level head and willingness to follow through will make things easier on everyone, no matter what the outcome.

My thoughts and prayers are with those in the accident and with you. You did a very good thing.

That's so sad. I'm sure the other driver is much better off because you were there for her.

You sound like me. Cool and collected during the disaster; total meltdown afterward--sometimes I get almost shocky. What's difficult is that there often isn't anyone to pick up *your* pieces.

(((hugs)))

*hugs* Good for you for handling it so well on the scene. As far as the shakes now - that's the nature of adrenaline - it gets you through the incident then leaves you shaking once it fades.

At least I'm okay to drive now. This morning I couldn't... luckily, it was right by my office (I was in the company van) and another co-worker was a few cars behind me. He drove the vehicle back to the office.

Big hugs! I'm so sorry! :( But well done, staying calm and keeping a level head during the whole thing. It's only natural that the shock is now catching up with you. *more big hugs*

Glad to hear you're doing better. Still sending more hugs, just because!

And I'm sorry to hear about the motorcycle driver. I know it's a stupid line, but maybe it really was for the best, if the accident was as horrible as it sounds.

*more big bear hugs*

Sending thoughts for all involved. You did good. I'm sure that lady will remember you being there for her. I've witnessed two fatal accidents and shook for a while after too. Then there was the time I stopped at an accident because I was an RN and found the person in the car was my mother in law.

I wanted to check on the motorcycle driver, but I have no knowledge of anything when it comes to that so I figured I was better to keep the older woman (in her 70s) calm as best I could until someone got there.

This is horrible. I know how it feels. You did all the right stuff but it's not surprising you're shaken. *HUGS*
