Meme: Writing Questions

As seen from everyone else:

You can ask me anything about my writing! Alternatively, you can ask (just a suggestion...):

1) What I was thinking at the time I wrote a story, or a question about my writing as a whole. The question can be about anything, including my WIPs (found here.

2) Pick a character/pairing I've written and I will explain the top five ideas, concepts, etc. I try to keep in mind while writing that character/pairing.

3) Quote a few lines from something I've written and I'll comment on them. You can find my fics from 2007 to present at the links below. Anything pre-2007 is either on TTH or FF.net, but if you want that you'll need to dig it up yourself. ;)

What is it that draws you to NCIS/White Collar crossovers?

What are your top 3 (or 5) AU settings you'd like to explore but haven't written yet?

Tell me about Abby! :)

What is it that draws you to NCIS/White Collar crossovers?

That one is two fold... I have a tendency to take previous fandom love and mesh with new fandom love when I find a new one. I consider BtVS to be my first writing fandom (although not my first fandom posted to the interwebs). When ever I start writing in a new fandom, I tend to crossover with previous fandoms. So that is why you will see a lot of crossovers from me. Mixing old and new loves together.

Also, crossovers have always been my favorite thing about fanfiction as a whole. Before I even knew what the internet was, I came up with stories in my head for reasons to have characters from shows A, B, C, etc. to meet. Heck, I even used my barbie dolls and fisher price people to act out my story ideas. I think the earliest I remember was that they were all stranded on a island like in EXILE and at some point various dolls would end up with super powers (who knows which show those ideas came from, since I watched quite a few with super abilities). And the first one I actually wrote to paper was I Still Dream of Jeannie, Swamp Thing and Highlander crossover. So, yeah, crossovers make me happy. :)

And thirdly, because I can't count, Neal and Tony. Together. Nuff said. :)

What are your top 3 (or 5) AU settings you'd like to explore but haven't written yet?

#01: Space AU... It is one of my Lucky 13 AUs to be written and I made 2-3 starts on it last year, but just haven't found the 'voice' I want for it yet. It is the final frontier after all.

#02: High School AU... I secretly like to read the occasional high school AU from authors that I enjoy other fic from and off/on have pondered toying with one myself. Still not sure though.

#03: Vampire AU... Yes, I have written vampire fic, but they've all been short ones. I really, really need to revisit my NCIS WIP that has vampire!Tony as vampire!Gibbs sire. Because I really like the world in my head and that I have this really awesome idea for human!McGee's origin in the story.

#04: Military AU... This is another Lucky 13 fic to be written that will ultimately be Gibbs/Shannon/Tony. In my head, Tony is a young soldier who ends up POW with Gibbs. They form a bond and when they come home... Well, that's what the story will be for.

#05: To Be Determined... Since you were the only one (so far) to ask questions, you are the lucky winner of giving me a prompt for an AU that I didn't list above and is not on my Lucky 13 list. Choose wisely with your prompt. ;)

Tell me about Abby!

Abby, Abby, Abby... I've always seen her as a unit of Gibbs and/or Tony. Since they are my primary go to characters, she tends to get relegated to the sidelines or playing matchmaker for the two. I do find her 'voice' harder to capture at times which may be why I don't write her as much. I also love the relationship that she had with Tony in the beginning of the series. They played off each other well and I could always picture them as being Friends with Benefits. Though the few times I tried to write Tony/Abby fics, Gibbs always joined in. It was like he couldn't let them play alone.

Love your answers, thank you! I can especially get behind the whole crossover explanation. It does make sense, and now that I think about it, I've done the same thing (subconsciously, at least). BRAIN TWINS! :D

And hee, Gibbs always pushing his way into Tabby fics. Possessive little bastard, the silver fox. *g*

As for the AU settings... Yes, there needs to be more of that vampire!fic, thank you very much! Looking forward to the military AU!

And aww, thank you for giving me a prompt spot! \o/ Okay, let's see... How's about a Magic AU? Not so much supernatural, mind you, just...pure magic. Peter as a powerful wizard with his sorceress wife who take in a young, roguish magician who turns out to be merely an illusionist...or Tony as apprentice to the dark warlord Gibbs...

If that's not your cuppa joe, how's about historical AU? Heck, this might tie in perfectly with the pharaoh!Peter thingy you wanted to write! *rubs hands together gleefully*

A Magic AU, eh? I think I can wave a wand for that. I do like the idea of Neal being a poser in a magical world when he doesn't have any real magical ability. *ponders this*
