Summary: Movies can be very useful in some instances and harmful in others.
“…when they shot him down on the highway, down like a dog on the highway, with a bunch of lace at his throat,” Tony mumbled to himself as he snapped the crime scene pictures.
“What’s that DiNozzo?” Gibbs asked sharply and Tony winced.
“Anne of Green Gables, 1985, Megan Follows. You would like her boss,” he added with a half smile, “she was a redhead.”
“What’s it got to do with our dead petty officer?” Gibbs growled.
“The set up reminds me of the poem she said. Right down to the lace at his throat. You don’t believe in coincidences.”
“But nobody could make a shot like that,” McGee said with a wave of his hand. “It’s impossible.”
“Nothing is impossible, Probie,” Tony said as he flipped through the pictures of the scene once more. “Our killer is just an extremely talented marksman because very few could do that.”
“If you know so much Tony, then name one person that could,” McGee challenged as he crossed his arms.
“Besides Gibbs,” Tony paused for dramatic effect. “Herb Parsons, Winchester 73. Did the shot for Jimmy Stewart’s character by putting a bullet through a washer.”
“Find me someone alive, DiNozzo!” Gibbs barked.
“Shooting the hostage should not be applied when I’m the hostage,” Tony said through gritted teeth as the paramedic worked.
“I thought you would be proud of my use of one of your movie quotes to save your tan,” Ziva said with a smirk as she kept watch.
“It’s hide not tan, and if you wanted to use a quote from Speed, couldn’t you have gone with the one about relationships forming under intense circumstances never working out?”
“But our relationship is working just fine Tony. It is not everyday one can follow through on a threat to shoot someone.”
